'Reflective cycles in Dreamland'

Image Background

“Between 2006 and early 2008 we lived in a sleepy rural village called Bear River, located in SW Nova Scotia close to the Bay of Fundy. It is a charming place but not always easy to photograph. A combination of spectacular sunrise, fall colours and a calm high tide is a rare occurrence. My patience eventually paid off one spectacular morning and I made several exposures in quick succession to capture the dynamic range. Like most lighting events, within a few minutes the light was gone.

A few days later I spent 24 hours undergoing some sleep tests in a Halifax hospital lab and I decided to use the spare time to evaluate a few recent images, including this one. The results of the test were set to change my life, part of a series of interesting twists and turns that have occurred over the past few years!

The image was processed fully in 2008 using a variety of digital techniques and software.” [SD]
